Speaking Interview Questions
These are the interview-style follow-up prompts at the end of the speaking paper.
Q8 Interview Q1 Description Speaking Interview
Interviewer: Thank you for taking the time to speak with me. I'd like to ask you some questions about career choices. First, from what you've seen, what kinds of careers do people around you tend to pursue? For example, do they work in healthcare, education, technology, or something else?
🎧 Question Audio
C1-C2 Sample Answer
CEFR C1-C2 target
  • State the habit or experience directly, then add a reflective reason.
  • Use pauses after contrast markers such as although, not simply, and rather than.
People around me tend to pursue careers in technology, education, business, and healthcare. Technology is especially attractive because it seems to offer growth and flexibility. Education and healthcare are also respected because they provide stable work and help people directly. These careers reflect a search for stability, relevance, and social contribution, though the balance differs by person.

Q9 Interview Q2 Preference Speaking Interview
Interviewer: I see. When choosing a career, is job satisfaction your first priority, or do you focus more on salary? Why?
🎧 Question Audio
C1-C2 Sample Answer
CEFR C1-C2 target
  • Compare options naturally instead of listing them mechanically.
  • Stress the phrase that shows preference or priority.
Job satisfaction would be my first priority, as long as the salary is enough to live responsibly. A high salary is attractive, but if the job damages my health or values, it may not be worth it. I would look for a balance between security and meaning. I would prioritize satisfaction because work occupies too much life to be judged only by financial compensation.
C1-C2 key phrases to imitate
  • financial compensation
  • what I tend to prioritize
  • depending on the situation
  • first priority

Q10 Interview Q3 Prediction Speaking Interview
Interviewer: Interesting. Next, I'd like to get your opinion. In recent years, there has been a trend towards people changing careers multiple times throughout their lives instead of sticking to one profession. What are your thoughts on this trend? Do you think it's helpful or hurtful to workers?
🎧 Question Audio
C1-C2 Sample Answer
CEFR C1-C2 target
  • Build a short narrative or hypothetical with a clear cause-and-effect line.
  • Segment the response into choice, reason, and consequence.
I think changing careers can be helpful if people do it for growth rather than panic. It allows workers to adapt to new technology and discover better fits for their skills. However, constant changes without planning can be risky because people may lose stability. Career change can be healthy when it is strategic adaptation, not simply escape from discomfort.

Yes, I think artificial intelligence will continue to change many fields. In my chosen field, it may handle routine tasks and basic analysis.
