These are the interview-style follow-up prompts at the end of the speaking paper.
Q8 Interview Q1PreferenceSpeaking Interview
Thank you for your participation. Today I'd like to ask you some questions about your dietary habits. When you have a meal at school or work, do you prefer to eat alone? Or do you like to eat with friends or coworkers? Why?
🎧 Question Audio
C1-C2 Sample Answer
CEFR C1-C2 target
State the habit or experience directly, then add a reflective reason.
Use pauses after contrast markers such as although, not simply, and rather than.
At school or work, I usually prefer eating with friends. A meal is a good chance to relax and talk after concentrating for a long time. However, if I am very busy or tired, eating alone can be peaceful because I do not have to make conversation. Eating with others turns a routine meal into social recovery, especially in the middle of a demanding day.

Thank you. And what kind of meals do your family or friends generally like to eat? For example? Do they prefer traditional home cooked dishes, fast food or other types?

Compare options naturally instead of listing them mechanically.
Stress the phrase that shows preference or priority.
My family generally prefers home-cooked meals, especially dishes with vegetables, rice, and soup. Fast food is convenient, but it does not feel as satisfying. A traditional meal feels warmer because it is connected to family habits and the taste we grew up with. Home-cooked food carries emotional familiarity, which fast food rarely provides even when it is convenient.

Interesting. Next I'd like to get your opinion. In recent years, many people have argued that plant based diets are better for individual health and for the planet. Do you think that in the future, more people will adopt plant based diets? Why or why not?

C1-C2 Sample Answer
CEFR C1-C2 target
Build a short narrative or hypothetical with a clear cause-and-effect line.
Segment the response into choice, reason, and consequence.
I think more people will try plant-based diets in the future, but not everyone will become fully vegetarian. People are more aware of health and environmental issues now. If plant-based food becomes cheaper and tastier, it will attract many people who are not ready to give up meat completely. Plant-based diets will spread when they become socially normal and practically satisfying.

Good points. I just have one more question. Some people believe that having regular meal times contributes to better health and financial wellbeing. Do you agree or disagree with this idea? Explain your answer.

Give a nuanced position with concession before your main argument.
Use intonation to signal contrast, qualification, and final judgment.
I agree that regular meal times can improve health and finances. Eating at regular times helps people avoid random snacks and expensive last-minute food. It also makes grocery shopping easier because people can plan meals instead of buying whatever is convenient. Regular meals support both health and money management by creating predictable daily structure.
