C1-C2 Sample Answer
CEFR C1-C2 target
  • State the habit or experience directly, then add a reflective reason.
  • Use pauses after contrast markers such as although, not simply, and rather than.
One personal goal I am working toward is becoming more consistent with study habits. I do not want to rely only on last-minute effort. My plan is to study in shorter daily sessions, so progress becomes steady instead of stressful. The goal is important because consistency changes improvement from an occasional burst of effort into a habit.

C1-C2 Sample Answer

  • Compare options naturally instead of listing them mechanically.
  • Stress the phrase that shows preference or priority.
To achieve a goal, I think the first step is making it specific. After that, I would divide it into smaller actions and track progress each week. The biggest challenge is usually staying patient, because results often come later than we expect. A goal becomes workable only when it is translated into observable weekly behavior.

  • Segment the response into choice, reason, and consequence.
An accomplishment that means a lot to me was improving in a subject I used to find difficult. I did not suddenly become perfect, but I kept practicing until my results changed. It is significant because it proved that effort over time can change how capable I feel. That accomplishment mattered because it changed my self-image from someone who avoids difficulty to someone who can grow through sustained effort.

  • Give a nuanced position with concession before your main argument.
  • Use intonation to signal contrast, qualification, and final judgment.
I agree that working toward individual goals is crucial for self-improvement. Goals give people a reason to build better habits instead of waiting for motivation. Even when the goal changes, the discipline and self-knowledge gained from pursuing it are still valuable. Individual goals are valuable when they create deliberate self-development, not when they become a narrow obsession with achievement.
